MO-Sen Fundraising

Congressman Roy blunt raised raised $1.44 million in the second quarter of this year.  His (presumed) Democrat opponent Jean Carnahan raised just over $1 million.

Blunt now also leads the important cash on hand race $1.7 million to $1.3 million.

All of this of course assumes that Congressman Blunt doesn’t have a primary.  Should there be a competitive primary, the cash on hand lead could turn into a defecit in a heartbeat.

I’d have to say that this is one of the most overlooked areas when someone does their financial plan.  Everyone thinks about life insurance, but disability insurance (NOT the stuff Aflac sells) is crucial to keeping your hard work from suffering when you are hurt and can’t work.

Sorry for the Site Formating [Fixed]

Something with the WordPress layout has caused things to go a little “off”.  Hopefully as I publish new articles, this fixes itself.

Apparently this WordPress theme doesn’t like it when you use the break feature to put stuff after the jump.  Oh well.  Fixed now.

If the world could vote?

What would happen if the world could vote in the US presidential elections?

November 4th 2008 the American people will choose a new president. The president of the United States of America is the most powerful person in the world.

We would like to know who would be the next president of the United States of America – if the world could vote!

In the presidential election in 2004 122,267,553 people voted. 6,500,000,000 people did not.

Our mission is to get more people to vote than voted in the last election. Mission impossible, we know, but still, wouldn’t it be great to see what the whole world thinks?

If we are to have any chance of reaching that goal we need your help. Tell all your friends around the world about iftheworldcouldvote.com. You can send them email, share it on Facebook (we also have a group you can join), digg it, reddit, save to delicious … Or all of it. So go ahead. Let’s see who would be the next president of the United States of America – if the world could vote;)

Talk about dumbing down the term “universal suffrage”.
